This week Calvin klein released their stunning spring summer 2012 advertising campaign. Inspired by the beautiful lines in the surroundings at Joshua Tree, California, I think these images are strong and bold reflecting the environment they are in. And some of this shoot was shot by one of my favorite photographers, Steven Klein!

The Rut

last week i again, had the pleasure of working with photographer Grant Adam (Adam-x Photography) on an interesting editorial shoot. Using my collection, 'Dead on the Sidewalk' I wanted to portray images of power inspired by the rutting period of some male animals such as deer where they battle over females. Models are myself and my brother AJ Johnstone.

This week sees the launch of a new photography exhibition in Cruise stores nationwide by photographer Jonathan D Pryce from 'Les Garcons De Glasgow' to mark the 30th anniversary of Cruise stores. I was lucky enough to meet him on Belmont st and had my photo taken as seen above! Jonathan photographed people from all cities featuring Cruise stores and displayed them as wallpaper in the store!

Last week I decided to shoot my university work and a few garments part of my 'Dead on the Sidewalk' collection featuring jewellery by Nick Von K. With photographer Sam Copeland and model Fiona Lamont, we were bound to get some beautiful shots as I hope you agree. The first garment was the first dress I ever made, a cocktail dress inspired by the 1950's. The shoes I am using are my own custom designed 'hoof' shoes. The second and third garments are both from my resort 2011 collection 'Dead on the Sidewalk' featuring jewellery by New Zealand designer, Nick Von K. The fourth gown is my latest piece, 'Americanna', inspired by America in the 17th/18th century and the mix of fabrics. And the fifth garment, which I completed a year ago was inspired by Scottish designer Bill Gibb. The Textile design was by designer Kate Bell.

So i have been so busy this past few weeks with making my resort collection that i have had hardly any time to blog! But i have fitted in 5 minutes today to bring you this stunning shot by Tim Walker from a collaboration shoot with Tim Burton. This is one of my favorite photo shoots, I love the combination of black and red and the dramatic, theatrical look of the model wearing a piece from the AW 2009 collection by Alexander McQueen.

Earlier this week on a brilliant, bright sunny day the Stag-Studio teamed up with photographer Sam Copeland to shoot the first half of my collection 'Dead on the Sidewalk'. With models Fiona Lamont and Jess Bird, we were bound to get some beautiful shots and I hope you all agree we succeeded. The silent Killer

This week I got the chance to work with local, Aberdeen photographer Grant Adam from Adam-x photography. Adam-x specializes in Male portraiture in an erotic but beautiful manner, which is evident in these series of shots I modeled in this week. I like how there's a more violent comment on the male form, stereotypically the victim would be female, but in the case of this concept, the male is the victim.
